Established in the mid-1940’s, American Limb & Orthopedic Company (ALOC) is owned and managed by ABC Board Certified orthotists and prosthetists. We share a common goal and commitment to providing high quality, innovative and comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic services to local hospitals, nursing homes, and the community at large. Our focus is to consistently provide professional and patient-centered care that is accessible and affordable.

Sheila McCormick is now a Certified Prosthetist!

sheila-mccormickWhat does that mean? It means that Sheila has successfully passed all of the exams required by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics Inc. (ABC) on top of a post-graduate program in Prosthetics administered by Northwestern University. ABC standards are the most comprehensive and stringent in the profession of Orthotics and Prosthetics. ABC certification requires a residency, and successful completion of two written exams and one "hands-on" Clinical Patient Management (CPM) exam. The examination process is arduous and is done over several months time. This accomplishment is note worthy and we are very proud of her achievement. Congratulations Sheila!

In fact she's the only female in the world with one of the longest-named syndromes in the world: Tibial aplasia, lower extremity mirror image polydactyly, brachyphalangy, craniofacial dysmorphism and genital hypoplasia: further delineation and mutational analysis.
